John Ayre guides us through the darker side of Norfolk County, the lawbreakers of the county’s history.
Born in Toronto John and Susie moved to Norfolk in 1990 when John left Halton County as an assistant Crown. He was appointed Crown Attorney for Norfolk in which role he served from 1990 to 2007. Thereafter he kept Norfolk as his home while working in Toronto as Assistant Deputy Attorney General for Criminal Law. Armed with an undergraduate degree in history, John wrote Felons of Norfolk, an Anthology of Murder and Mayhem. Post retirement in 2014 he has written the soon to be published “Voyage of Dollier & Galinee 1669-1670.” John is a member of the Norfolk Historical Society and has a new career as a grandfather.
