LIVING THE DREAM: THE ART OF BRUCE STEINHOFF
The internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Steinhoff has been recognized as one of Canada's most successful landscape painters. The current exhibition is a retrospective of his works over the more than 40 years that he has been painting. Samples of his work are on display at the Norfolk Heritage Centre from January 21st to March 21st. Teachers are encouraged to contact the museum to arrange for guided tours for their art classes. Local artists will also have opportunities to meet and chat with Bruce while he is Artist in Residence.

STRIKE UP THE BAND!
This temporary display will delve into the role of music in Norfolk County, from the 19th century Opera House in the Norfolk Hotel to Rock 'n Roll's own Rick Danko of "The Band" fame. Opens February 10th. The Museum's next House Concert is taking place on March 12th, beginning at 7:00pm. "Wearin' O' The Green" will feature a night of Irish music by Ian Bell, Ted Comiskey and Jim Gonder. Admission: $5/person.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC!
The Society is organizing a bus trip to Toronto on May 20, 2009. The destination is FRONT ROW SEATING of the Princess of Wales Theatre for the beloved musical, The Sound of Music. NORFOLK'S RURAL ROOTS
Supplementing a travelling display on agriculture from the Archives of Ontario, "Norfolk's Rural Roots" will look at local Century Farms, local produce and other items of an agrarian nature. This is being held in conjunction with Archives Awareness Week in April.
HATS OFF NORFOLK!
This fun-filled exhibit will look at the history of headgear, from bonnets and beavers, to beanies and ballcaps! Special related programming will take place throughout the exhibit, including a Mad Hatter's Tea Party. "Hats Off Norfolk" will be on display from May 5 to August 1.

SHEDDING LIGHT ON OLD NORFOLK
Ontario Power Generation and the museum presented this exhibit delving into the evolution of lighting devices, from fat lamps to floor lamps. Special programming included lectures on Aladdin Lamps; the Evolution of Lighting; and Lantern Light Tours. Some items are still on display.
GLISTENING GLASS
An exhibition of glass in all its many forms from the beautiful to the mundane was on view from September 17th to November 22nd. We extend our special thanks to exhibit sponsor Rassaun Steel

BILL YEAGER HAS RETIRED
In recognition and in celebration of Bill Yeager's extensive commitment to the Norfolk Historical Society for more than 35 years, a reception was held at the Museum on Sunday October 26th. More than 150 people dropped in to wish Bill all the best in his retirement. At the reception, Bill was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ontario Museum Association and Life Membership in the Norfolk Historical Society.
A part of the Norfolk Heritage Centre that Bill was so actively involved in creating, the archival wing, has been named the William Yeager Research Facility as a lasting tribute to his dedication to preserving the history of Norfolk for the present and future generations of visitors.
